Founder and creative director, Brian is a fine artist and industrial designer from Detroit who is settled in London. Brian’s extensive professional career with footwear, performance and lifestyle global brands such as Nike, Lacoste and Converse; and his personal interests have shaped his refined sensibilities for art, design, history and contemporary culture. His ability to sympathetically blend all those elements is what gives his work its unique signature. His professional achievements and contributions to the footwear industry have earned him membership into the prestigious Worshipful Company of Cordwainers, where amongst other things, he mentors emerging talents and judges award shows with other highly respected footwear stalwarts.

Yen

Managing the day-today affairs of the bkd is co-owner Yen, whose colourful and wide ranging career in law and financial services in UK has seen her through some of the toughest criminal cases, to investigating international investment banks, to setting up fintech start-ups. She has taken a break from the world of law and finance to pursue and explore her passion for art, design and fashion, a side of her which was been nurtured through osmosis from her father who was an architect and mother, a gemologist and jewellery designer.
